The Portuguese midfielder was sent off in the 57th minute and the team soon fell behind.
Fenerbahçe lost for the second consecutive time on Saturday when they lost against champions Trabzonspor (2-0), risking to see the leadership slip to Galatasaray in the Christmas season.
The main chances of the first half, although few, fell to the home team, which came close to scoring mainly through Trezeguet.
The Portuguese coach’s team felt difficulties in threatening the opposite goal and the task became even more complex when Miguel Crespo was sent off after 57 minutes, when he saw his second yellow card in the match.
Trabzonspor soon took advantage of the numerical superiority and, at the turn of the hour, Maxi Gómez shot accurately into the back of the net, following a pass from Anastasios Bakasetas.
Jorge Jesus even sent on Lincoln and Enner Valencia to change the course of events, but the numerical inferiority culminated in the final 2-0 at 90+11, in a counter-attack finished by Trezeguet to settle the doubts.
With this result, Fenerbahçe remain on the top of the table with 29 points. However, Galatasaray could steal that status if they win against Istanbulspor, in a game scheduled for this Sunday. Trabzonspor, meanwhile, is fourth with 26.
