HAMPTON — SAFER, Seacoast Area Feline Education & Rescue, once again came to the aid of abandoned and homeless cats.
Last month 16 cats and kittens (five adults and 11 kittens) were rescued in Hampton Falls. To date, three of the adults have been medically cleared, spayed or neutered and returned to the location. SAFER continues to care for the remaining animals, providing medical workups, feeding and finding foster homes until the animals are ready for adoption. At that time, they will be transferred to local agencies for adoption and placement in permanent and loving homes.
The medical expenses involved in just this one rescue places a heavy burden on the agency’s finances. SAFER is an all volunteer, non-salaried position. It is a 501© 3 nonprofit agency, founded in 1998. To date, SAFER has rescued more than 3,000 cats/kittens.
For the month of July, a portion of the sales from the Fabulous Find Resale Boutique, 139 State Road, Kittery, Maine, will go to SAFER. Remember to mention SAFER while shopping there.
