HAMPTON FALLS — Police are investigating a suspected hit-and-run incident after a Massachusetts man was found unconscious on the side of Lafayette Road late Wednesday night.

David Olds, 31, of Haverhill, was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious injuries, police said. 

A Seabrook police officer found the man in Hampton Falls with a compound fracture to his leg and a head injury, according to State Police. The Seabrook officer noticed debris consistent with a car crash in the area near 105 Lafayette Road and contacted Hampton Falls police, who responded to the scene and requested State Police assistance at 11:23 p.m.

Members of State Police Troop A as well as the New Hampshire State Police Collision Accident Reconstruction Unit investigated.

Assisting State Police at the scene were the Hampton Falls police and fire departments and Seabrook police.
